Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways.

It is the most common chronic disease of childhood--affecting five million children annually--but it also affects adults.

Each year, adults and children with asthma have more than 100 million days of restricted activity. In spite of treatment advances, the number of days continues to increase. These eight questions may help you identify if you have asthma.

This test should be used as a guideline and is based on guidelines developed by National Institues of Health for the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program.
